I just placed an order today for Xenca Boost and Bronze which I use for my vitiligo (Boost for re-pigmentation and Bronze to add a little bit of cosmetic colour to my remaining few white patches) and they are offering 2 for 1 at the moment, so it is a good time to stock up 🙂 I order from www.buyxenca.com . Thank you to all of you who keep me updated on your progress – please keep the newsflashes coming – it’s incredibly encouraging to hear your success stories. I never pass on names but it’s great to be able to tell other vitiligo sufferers about your progress whenever I am asked.

I have been battling vitiligo for the past 5 years, I am now 56 years old. Have used Merry Clinic, with no success and currently using lotions from TheWellnessWell with Dr. Wanakee Hill. I was getting some pigment back until a couple of months ago. I have had some thyroid issues and is now under control. Eat very healthy and exercise. Several months ago my skin (just the white spots) started itching really bad. Soon after my pigment was gone and it was spreading. Mainly on my hands and arms almost to the elbows, feet, chest and breast. A few spots on my legs. So encouraging to read your story. We have a boat and that is about the only place that I will expose my skin. Would love to be able to wear sleeveless shirts again without people starring. Thanks so much for sharing your story. Checking into the Boost and 5 A Day
Has anyone had success with Vitiligo while taking the supplement Boost?
Yes, Joan. Apart from myself, of course, numerous others have had good results too. I have put a few of their testimonials and photos onto this page:

Have had success with using both the supplements and tanning for my 9 year old son. He has repigmented about 50%.
I am in the USA. Do you know if Boost and Five A Day is offered any place in the USA?
Thanks for your comments, Melanie. I’m sorry to hear about your recent loss of pigment. I can relate to your experience of intense itching in advance of this loss. That was the pattern that a lot of my vitiligo patches followed too. The good news is that you have had repigmentation before, so you know that your melanocytes are alive and well. Also, having your thyroid issues back under control is bound to help.
I’m afraid Boost and Five a Day are only made in the UK and the only way to get them delivered to USA is by ordering online. They are available on http://www.buyxenca.com and on http://www.vitiligostore.com (my new website). I would recommend checking both to see which one offers lower postage to the States. Good luck and please do keep in touch = you are welcome to email me with any questions 🙂
Hi Caroline, I’ve been taking Boost for over a month now in Canada and nothing has happened, also taking 5 aday. i’m ready to order my next bottle hoping more time of taking boost will do the trick. your story gives me encouragement. I have vitiligo patches on my hands, chest, and an lower area of my face.
I am SO sorry not to have seen your comment at the time, Joy. (The automated emails on my blog don’t always come through, so I have only just spotted yours from last year!!!)
The obvious question for me to ask you now is did you carry on using the supplements and did you get any re-pigmentation after that? As with most natural therapies, it can take at 6 months or so before seeing visible results.
Did it help you ?
Did the 5 a day and/ or Boost help with vitiligo. I have been taking the 5 a day and just started taking boost. I dont know what to make of the fact that I see nothing online about Xenca or its products, except for self published articles. Other companies have third party comparison ratings, reviews, etc. but the only thing I have read online about xenca seems to be authored by the company itself or one of its sales people. I want to know what unbiased product users think of the Xenca products. Can you shed some light?
Hi
Just to say I have been taking Boost for almost 3 weeks now and have not really noticed any re-pigmentation yet but my skin does look a bit darker (although the sun has been out for a change in Scotland) Hoping it works as white patches really bad on my face, underarms and hands. Will keep you posted. Gillian Glasgow
Hi Gillian, sorry for the slight delay in spotting your comment. Glad to hear that your skin looks a bit darker (and also that you have been having good weather up there in Glasgow – ours in the north of England has also been wonderful recently for a change!) I would expect it to take at least 6 weeks before you see any freckling, although this does seem to vary considerably from one person to another. Not sure if you are also taking Five a Day+ but, if not, I would definitely recommend eating as much green veg as you possibly can to support the whole process. Boost provides the nutrients associated with pigment production, and the sun exposure will help stimulate the process but it also seems to be important to increase your levels of antioxidants significantly at the same time . Anyway, I look forward to your next update – keep up the good work 🙂
Please notify me of new comments.
Thanks, Ayesha. If you would like to follow my blog you can use the RSS feed there or just drop in at http://www.thevitpro.com/vitiligo-blog from time to time to see what’s new. Either way, I hope you will find something useful 🙂
I’m sorry to hear about your experience of trying to have Boost and Five a Day delivered to your home in Indonesia. I’m surprised the authorities require you to have an import permit for a quantity of product that is purely for your own use. Are you sure there is no way of getting around this? Is there perhaps an exemption on the grounds of health?
If not, then I can only suggest you try to find other products that contain some of the same ingredients and maybe source the rest individually if you can, as I don’t know of any alternative products. You can find the ingredients listings on the following pages:

Good luck!
Hello Caroline
I have vitiligo for past 23 years and now it’s about 60% coverage… I have been taking 5 a day plus twice daily and recently ordered boost.. can you please advice how to take boost along with 5 aday plus and when the sun exposure is required.. just to mention I am in dubai and hence it’s too hot here in morning itself . Kindly advice
Hi Pramila,
Glad to hear you are adding Boost to your Five a Day protocol. The recommended dosage for Boost is 2 capsules twice a day before meals. It does not matter when you take Five a Day +, although it is a good idea to spread the doses throughout the day. So I take my Boost capsules before breakfast and before my evening meal. I take my Five a Day with, or after, breakfast and again mid-afternoon. Some people also take a third dose before bed.
Given how hot the sunshine is in Dubai, I would suggest allowing the Boost to build up in your system for a week before starting sun exposure and then only 5 – 10 minutes at a time to start with, and at the cooler times of the day. It’s hard to be specific on this because there are so many variables. So I think you need to be guided by your skin. The aim is to make the white patches go a little bit pink without burning them.
Hope this helps – good luck!
Hi,
Any suggestion on similar products to Boost and Five A Day? Because I did order the products to be shipped to my country (Indonesia). However, the package was withheld by the Indonesia FDA since I need to have import permit for such products.
Thanks
Hi, I ordered Boost and 5+ a day from this site. It has not told me when the expected delivery date is. (I’m in Australia) Also, when I do sun exposure do I need to put sunscreen on?
Also I forgot to add, do we also need to eat healthy and exercise? Along with the boost and 5+ I am going to be also taking fish oil and vitamin D and B12 supplements. Is this also okay? Or is too many supplements bad.
And just 1 more question! ( sorry, I am just so willing to find answers)
I am a smoker and I am trying to quit but I cannot do it cold turkey. So I am gradually decreasing my ciggerettes, does smoking affect vitiligo? It’s starting on my face and I want to reduce it as much as I can.
Thankyou so much!
Those are all very good questions, Laurence, and I don’t think anyone really knows the answers for sure but I will try my best, based on my untrained knowledge!
Eating healthily (especially increasing vegetable intake and cutting right down on highly processed foods and on sugar) is likely to be a big help, as is reducing – and eventually eliminating smoking. All of this will help to improve your nutritional status and improve your body’s ability to heal itself.
Supplementation is not an exact science because everyone’s needs are different (and because official recommended daily amounts are only educated guesses at best). However, I can reassure you that it is fine for you to take as much Five a Day as you like since this is a whole food blend rather than a supplement in the usual sense of the word, so it is really just like eating a lot of highly nutritious vegetables.
Boost contains the nutrients that are needed for the pigmentation process to occur and already contains some B12 and D. However,I doubt that the additional B12 and D that you are taking will cause you to “overdose” since, as a vitiligo sufferer, you are almost certainly deficient in these and will need to overcompensate for a while until your body recovers from these deficiencies. As for the fish oil, there is no conflict between this and the other supplements and I would suggest you continue with it.
I hope this helps 🙂
I absolutely understand the reason for your question above, Christie. There is not a lot of comment online specifically about Xenca – and certainly not in the context of vitiligo. I suppose this is because they are a small UK company – and they deal in general nutritional and therapeutic products, so their supplements are not aimed at any particular health condition. But you can find plenty of unsolicited testimonials (and photos) from vitiligo sufferers who are getting re-pigmentation using these products on this page: https://thevitpro.com/reviews-and-testimonials/
I hope this helps.
Thanks for posting your questions here, Laurence. I shall answer those relating directly to your Vitiligo Store order by email and the other points here, in case those may be helpful to other readers.
Incidentally, I have already sent you a couple of emails in response to your other enquiries but I suspect they may have gone into your spam. Would you mind adding enquiries@vitiligostore.com to your safe list?
To answer your questions about sun exposure, the best times for this are likely to be early morning or late afternoon so that you avoid the hottest times of the day when the UV may be too intense. I generally recommend avoiding the use of sunscreen as this defeats the object of getting UV exposure. However, this means that you need to be careful about how long you stay outside. You may need to start off with just 5 minutes and gradually increase the timings according to how much your vitiligo patches can tolerate without becoming sore. They should go a bit pink – but definitely not burnt.
Thankyou so much , yes I have received emails. Thankyou ! I will add to safe list! 🙂
Hi, my 12 year old son has Vitiligo, mainly patches on his legs & hands plus a couple in his face. He has quite pale skin so not all patches are obvious so I’m just concerned that if we start giving him the boost & five a day & it starts to darken his skin, his not so obvious patches will become more visible??
Sorry to hear that, Ben. Boost might make your son’s normal skin slightly darker when exposed to the sun but it would hopefully be a short term effect pending his re-pigmentation. However, at age 12, I would suggest you give him half the adult dosage. But I suggest he have at least two doses of Five a Day each day. It is a super green food supplement and completely safe to take at any age.
